Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 10, 2026Who We Are
Small Victories Wealth ("we," "us," "SVW," or "our") is a financial planning firm based in San Jose, California, and a state-registered investment adviser — registered with the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation (DFPI) and notice-filed in the State of Texas. This policy explains what information we collect through our website, https://www.smallvictorieswealth.com, and through our client communications — including text messaging — and how we use, share, and protect it.
If you have questions about anything here, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page.
Scope of This Policy
This policy covers information collected through our public website and general communications. If you become a client, the nonpublic personal financial information you share with us is also governed by our separate Consumer Privacy Notice, delivered when your engagement begins and as required thereafter under federal financial privacy law. This website policy supplements — and does not replace — that notice.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few ways:
Information you give us directly — your name, email address, and phone number when you fill out a contact or intake form, schedule a meeting, join our email list, or sign up to receive text messages from us, along with anything you choose to include in a message to us
Information collected automatically — like most websites, ours collects basic technical data such as browser and device type, IP address, referring page, and pages visited, through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies & Analytics below).
Client information — if you become a client, we collect the additional personal and financial information needed to provide our services. That information is covered by our Consumer Privacy Notice and the federal privacy rules described below.
Cookies & Analytics
Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which sets certain cookies necessary for the site to function and to measure traffic. We may also use analytics tools to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These tools may collect information such as pages viewed, time on page, and general location derived from IP address.
You can control cookies through your browser settings — most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies, though some site features may not work as well if you do. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals at this time. We do not use your website activity to build advertising profiles, and we do not sell it.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
Respond to your inquiries and schedule meetings;
Provide financial planning and advisory services to clients;
Send appointment reminders, service updates, and other communications you've asked for — including text messages if you've opted in;
Operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website;
Meet our legal, regulatory, and recordkeeping obligations as a registered investment adviser.
We do not sell your personal information. Period.
Text Messaging (SMS) Program
We offer text messaging as a convenience for clients and prospective clients — things like appointment reminders, scheduling, and brief service-related updates. Here's how the program works and what you're agreeing to when you opt in.
Consent and Opt-In
You will only receive text messages from us if you have opted in — for example, by providing your mobile number and agreeing to receive texts through a form on our website, in writing, or verbally during our work together. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of becoming a client or purchasing any service.
Message Frequency and Rates
Message frequency varies based on your interactions with us. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
How to Opt Out
You can cancel text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. After you send STOP, we will send a final message confirming you have been unsubscribed, and you will receive no further texts from us unless you opt in again. You can also opt out by contacting us directly using the information at the bottom of this policy.
Help
If you need assistance at any time, reply HELP to any message from us, or contact us at vince@smallvictorieswealth.com or 408-465-9082.
Mobile Information Sharing
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
We use a third-party text messaging service provider solely to deliver messages on our behalf. That provider is contractually limited to using your information only to provide the messaging service — never for its own marketing.
How We Share Information
We share personal information only in these limited situations:
Service providers — companies that help us run our business, such as our scheduling, client portal, custodian, secure file-sharing, and messaging platforms. They may only use your information to perform services for us.
Legal and regulatory requirements — when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or our regulators.
With your direction — for example, if you ask us to coordinate with your accountant or attorney.
We never sell or rent your personal information to anyone, and as noted above, your mobile number and texting opt-in data are never shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your personal information — including secure, encrypted file-sharing tools for sensitive documents, access controls, and multi-factor authentication on our core systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but protecting your information is something we take seriously as a regulated financial services firm. If you need to send us sensitive documents, please use the secure file-sharing link we provide rather than regular email.
Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, and as required by the recordkeeping rules that apply to registered investment advisers — which generally require certain records to be retained for at least five years. When information is no longer needed, we dispose of it securely.
Your Privacy Rights
You can, at any time:
Opt out of text messages (reply STOP);
Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email;
Ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction, or request deletion, subject to the recordkeeping obligations that apply to our firm.
To exercise any of these, contact us using the details below and we will respond as required by applicable law.
California Residents
If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), including the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, the right to request deletion or correction, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information — though, as stated, we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Note that personal information we collect in connection with providing financial services is generally governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and is exempt from certain California privacy requirements; that information is addressed in our Consumer Privacy Notice.
Clients: GLBA & Our Consumer Privacy Notice
As a financial institution, we are subject to the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and its privacy and safeguards rules. If you are a client, you receive our Consumer Privacy Notice, which describes in more detail how we collect, use, and protect your nonpublic personal financial information, and the limited circumstances in which it may be shared. That notice is delivered when you become a client and as required thereafter.
Children's Privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Third-Party Links
Our website may link to third-party sites and tools (for example, our scheduling, portal, or custodian platforms). When you follow those links you leave our site, and this policy no longer applies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites and encourage you to review their policies.
Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you directly. We encourage you to review this page from time to time.
